The comedy sequel will return for a second season.
February 15, 2022
Hulu announced today that How I Met Your Father has been renewed for Season 2. The good news comes less than a month after the comedy premiered on the streaming service.
A standalone sequel to CBS' long-running hit 'How I Met Your Mother', the show follows a woman named Sophie in the future as she tells her son the story of how she met his father. The tale goes back to the year 2021, where Sophie and her close group of friends are trying to figure out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and endless options.
The streamer is doubling the episode count for Season 2 of How I Met Your Father, ordering a total of 20 for a likely premiere in early 2023.

I think not only do certain shows need time but also you need to give it time to understand the characters. It’s definitely cheesy and sometimes cringey but so was 2 Broke Girls, eventually you just learn to enjoy the characters and this has been one of those shows for me. I picked up watching after more episodes were out and enjoyed it. Finale was great and hoping for an s3

I like this show - every new show needs a beat to get into it though, some more so.
I enjoy this show though and am very glad a new season is coming along. I just really hope if they are going to cancel it we are least get the right ending!!

Trying to get into this show but the cast is boring. Feels like a bad ripoff of Friends.

I bet that for most people this news is funnier than the show itself. Oh well.
Huh?

.. it's okay.. but they REALLY need to change the theme music to something other than the "floating zen female skat tones" -- that in itself makes the first impression of every episode seem like the episode is going to be an emotional drama about overcoming leukemia or something - not a slightly humorous 30 minutes about the relationships between friends.

I'm not sure it'll be possible to truly match HIMYM, that show was one of my favorites (though the ending did leave quite a bit to be desired). I was worried that the comparison to the original would doom this from the start, I'm glad it's getting a chance at least.
