March 4, 2022
Apple TV+ announced today that Acapulco has been picked up for Season 2. The good news comes three months after the bilingual comedy wrapped its freshman run, which garnered high praise from critics.
The half-hour series follows a guy in his twenties who lands his dream job as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco. But before long he realizes that working there will be far more complicated than he could have imagined. In order to succeed, he must learn to navigate the resort's demanding clientele, his mercurial mentor, and a complicated home life - all without losing his way.

Thanks for the explanations John. Sounds like it could be worth checking out if you know any Spanish, or are learning. I wish I knew Spanish but nothing has helped me yet.

Great news. I enjoyed the first season and was hoping for more.
Steve S, about half the show is in Spanish. There are subtitles so you won’t miss the jokes. However, maybe I missed them since I know very little Spanish myself.

Does bilingual comedy mean that it will help a lot to understand Spanish else it might not be too funny? Does cabana boy get the hottest clientele or is it the locals he's interested in?
