The competition series earns an early pickup.
March 9, 2022
CBS announced today that Tough as Nails has been picked up for Season 5. The renewal is an early one, as the competition series just finished airing its third season in December. Last April the show received a two-year pickup, and Season 4 has reportedly already completed production.
Hosted by Phil Keoghan, Tough as Nails takes everyday Americans who are used to putting in long hours and getting their hands dirty, and tests their strength, endurance, life skills, and mental toughness in solo and team challenges set at real-world job sites.

My husband and I have been married 21 years in October and Tough As Nails was our "date night" during the pandemic..gotta improvise when you have limitations! We love this series and have been watching since Season 1...can't wait for Season 5!! My husband is in the trades also..let's give a shout out to all the trades people who are also essential workers eh? :)

A single idea for a show that supports the tough of the tough. Everyday sweating, brusies, etc. By far the best thoughts become things competitive reality show. Can't wait to watch so much more. The host makes it very exciting and fun to watch.

I've enjoyed every season and I couldn't be happier to see this news! I did think S3 took a little decline, still I enjoyed every episode. I find these people so encouraging to each other, even to people on the other team! I look forward to Seasons 4 AND 5!!!

.. pandering to the working class... the "isn't everyone just fabulous and they all love and support each other without question" attitude just doesn't jibe here. The premise is good, but the sugar-coated editing is pretty bad.

Season 1 was excellent, S2 good and then it got a bit "meh" Still better than most reality shows though!

Glad to hear it. It's a good show that shows all the hard work that people have to do day to day.
