Netflix announced today that Locke & Key will be coming to an end after its upcoming third season. It has been over a year since the supernatural drama was renewed for Season 3 and six months since the release of its sophomore run.
In a message posted on the streaming service's Twitter page, showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill let fans know that they always felt three seasons was the perfect length to tell the complete story of the Locke family in the exact way they wanted. This is good news, as the show will surely have a fitting conclusion that was properly planned out.
Based on the comic book series of the same name, Locke & Key follows three siblings who move into their ancestral house after their father's untimely murder, only to find that it contains magical keys that alter reality to give them a variety of otherworldly powers. But a demonic entity wants to steal the keys for its own nefarious reasons and will stop at nothing to get them.
