No Season 2 for the hip hop drama.
May 6, 2022
It is being reported that ABC has cancelled Queens after just one season. The news comes three months after the drama wrapped its 13-episode freshman run. The move does not come as a surprise, as the show failed to hold on to a substantial audience, with its now-series finale drawing just over 1 million viewers.
Queens followed the members of a 1990s hip-hop group called the Nasty Bitches. Back in the day, they found success and their music topped the charts. Now in their 40s and having long gone their separate ways, the estranged women decide to reunite after 20 years for a chance to recapture their fame and take over the hip-hop world once again.

@Yvonne it would be nice if it is picked up by VH1 a station that carries this type of content.

Hip hop is one of most stagnant types of music. It is now often down to basics musically and the sameness and lack of originality is a far cry from the rap of thirty years ago. This show was painful to watch.

I absolutely enjoyed every second of the show I like how they all came out rapping and singing I like how Brandi found her person she found her strength to stand on her own and actually be there for her daughter I like Eve's role I enjoyed everyone's part this is one of my favorite TV shows I was really hoping for a season 2 and probably three this was one of the best TV series this year definitely on my top 10 list it's such a bummer you're trying to cancel it all because if you people don't know talent when they see it

I watched every episode, mostly for Eve (of course her run was limited; congrats on her bundle-of-joy), but, honestly, the storylines and acting were subpar. Only the rapping was good, but, that doesn’t make for a good tv show….

It was a knockoff of Girl5eva. Just diversity with bad acting.

"Brittany" has identity disorder and some good shows get cancelled all the time and some garbage shows get renewed all the time. Unfortunately it's the same identity disorder regularly spewing their absolutist pulp.

Obviously the show was crap otherwise it would have gotten renewed. It was a bad show and hip hop and race had nothing to do with it. Not everything is about race if it doesn’t work out. Maybe it was just a crappy product.

Queens should be renewed,it had diversity with females of various cultures who were pursuing success in the music industry as independent singers&business women who wanted power to control ownership of their music&to hire other artists to establish a company by whatever means necessary for success, just as the business world really is&actually exist it just needed a stronger presentation&determination in it's characters.

Sad to see the show go only a REAL hip-hop fan would understand. Society don't wanna see black women have a voice or platform
