The reimagined comedy will return for a second season.

ABC announced today that The Wonder Years has been renewed for Season 2. The good news comes ahead of next week's freshman finale, which will cap a successful debut outing for the reimagined coming-of-age comedy.
The half-hour series premiered last September with a solid start, garnering a positive critical reception and ranking as one of the network's top comedies of the season among adults 18-49. It was quickly picked up for a full season of 22 episodes.
Inspired by the 1988 series of the same name, The Wonder Years takes a look back in time at a Black middle-class family in 1960s Montgomery, Alabama, from the point of view of an imaginative 12-year-old named Dean. Narrated by his grown-up self with the wisdom of his adult years, Dean reflects on some of the best years of his life with his family during a turbulent time.
Look for Season 2 of The Wonder Years this fall as part of the 2022-2023 season.

Great news! I did not watch the original show. However, this show is fresh, great characters and story lines. Thoroughly entertaining.

Be woke and you won't be broke. Great show with realistic parents and kids. The tie-in to the original was amazing.

Wow. The seasonal finale had 1.84 Million viewers. This show has dismal ratings that have continued to fall every week. I guess ABC's schedule is pretty bare to renew this show.

This is awesome news! I’ve been really enjoying this new version of The Wonder Years. I’ve got family who was growing up in Alabama during that era so it really resonates a lot but it’s still sweet and funny in a way that I think most people would enjoy.
