FX announced today that The Bear has been picked up for Season 2. The good news comes three weeks after the drama released its 8-episode freshman run exclusively on Hulu. The half-hour series premiered in June to widespread praise from both audiences and critics.
"We are so grateful to FX, our insanely talented cast, our crew who worked hard, fast, and in the dead of winter, not to mention everyone who watched. And we can't wait to bring you all back to The Bear in 2023," said co-showrunners and executive producers Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo.
The Bear follows Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto, a young chef from the fine dining world who moves back to Chicago to run his family's sandwich shop after a death in the family. Out of his comfort zone, Carmy must grapple with the loss of his brother while balancing small business ownership, his stubborn kitchen staff, and his strained family relationships.

This is an excellent paced show with an interesting story and actual realistic characters... each episode flows into the next and there's no lull in any of them. It keeps a steady stream of story through the entirety of season one.
Decent watch. Will be looking forward to season two.

It's Lip but working as a cook instead of in a bike shop. Love this show--love the shots of Chicago--love the cast!

Excellent news. White was outstanding as Carmy. The rest of the crew rocked. Looking forward to a new season.

Great news. I just started watching it and was drawn in by the star Jeremy Allen White who was awesome on Shameless. This show has a very similar feels as Carmy struggles to keep his head above water. Also both stories are based out of a family life in Chicago and deal with death, alcoholism, financial and family struggles.
Great show and looking forward to the rest of season 1 and season 2. Congrats to the cast and crew.
