No Season 2 for the live action horror series.
August 26, 2022
It is being reported by Deadline that Netflix has cancelled Resident Evil after just one season. The news comes just six weeks after the horror drama released its 8-episode freshman run, which ultimately received a mixed reception from critics and viewers.
Adapted from the Capcom video game franchise of the same name, the series is set in the year 2036, where Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by blood-thirsty infected creatures. It has been 14 years since a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, and Jade has been haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her dad's chilling connections to the mysterious Umbrella Corporation, and by what happened to her sister.

This show was awful, also woke and modernized, ignoring lore and the source material. Pretty tyical of Netflix anymore - trash and not worth the time to watch.
Which is a real shame since I like Lance Reddick as an actor so much. I hope he finds something new and worthy of his talents quickly.

I have watched 5 episodes so far and I like it. I think future Jade is not nearly as interesting as young Jade and Billie. P.S. I have not played the games, so I cannot comment on the game/show comparison.

Most zombie shows are cheesy fun ( the two new korean shows being the best new ones , with tales of the walking dead also being fun. but this was all over place storywise. With tons of angry teen angst then back to monsters and zombies. Then they are on a ship and a giant gator is there. Yeah it was just too far away from the movies or the game to last.

Wow, what a chock. I stopped watching after 20 minutes, because it was awful... But what did I expect - most shows are not very good special after streaming services came out the quality have dropped.
I guess it's too easy to sell awful shows now...

The show had some promise in the trailers, but unfortunately it ended up being quite cheesy, rather than horror. The action scenes were appallingly bad in my opinion.

I haven't watched it but didn't think this would make it when they announced it.

@jt because they never played the games .it's so easy just tell the story of RE game one and two .but no let's get woke .to an audience that's not going to stand for this .they should have got wesker right. He was always a frat boy gone insane

Normally, I always give an adaptation a chance like with Cowboy Bebop last year which at least legitimately was making an effort to be a good series. Long as the spirit is there and its well written, I can forgive any changes from the original material.
But this? No. It's another RE thing in name only. Felt like it was gleaming too much from the Paul Anderson movies (particularly the ones after the second movie) and trying to combine them with a CW show. Just a bad match up all around with an even more absurd plot between two timelnes with some boring characters to boot. Just, ugh, chalk this up as another swing and a miss for Capcom. Maybe next time do an RE series that isn't post apocalyptic eh?

Good. Horrible show. Why can't they get resident evil right?
