The long-awaited feature film is finally happening.

Peacock announced Friday that the long-promised Community film is on the way. It has been seven years since the beloved comedy wrapped its six-season run after more than 100 episodes. With today's news, the show's adopted mantra of 'six seasons and a movie' will finally come true.
In the show, which ran from 2009-2015, a diverse group of students at Greendale Community College come together and form a study group, where they develop a unique friendship with one another.
'Community: The Movie' will reunite original stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Ken Jeong, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, and Jim Rash. Creator Dan Harmon and executive producer Andrew Guest are also on-board. No time frame has been set for its release.

Is Chevy cancelled yet? I have heard he is sometimes abrasive on set.

Is Glover the same Glover who was doing some of the JCSS plays and tours? Would he cameo? or was there a problem? I only managed to keep up with the first 2.5 seasons, no idea what happened later.

Community was the most original and creative sitcom in tv history. I'm happy it's coming back as a movie. I knew Glover would not be back since he is a look forward not back kind of person. They could not bring back Chevy or everyone else would have said no. They had to have Jim Rash so thats good, he should be in everything. But they must bring back Yvette Nicole Brown! The character of Shirley provides balance and they will need it for the movie to work.

While I'll certainly watch it.... waiting nearly a decade seems like they've really missed the point. What's next... the long promised Friends movie? At this point, it seems rather pathetic.
