The sci-fi drama will not expand its original story.

It is being reported that The Man Who Fell to Earth will not be returning for a second season. Showtime has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the sci-fi drama will remain as "a one season story well told."
Based on the 1963 Walter Tevis novel of the same name, the series premiered in April with a 10-episode run that garnered an overall positive reception from both critics and audiences alike. Ultimately, though, network executives were happy with the way the story ended and decided against expanding it into further seasons.
The Man Who Fell to Earth follows an alien named Faraday who arrives on planet Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his past to determine the future of humanity. He seeks out a woman who must conquer her own demons in the midst of a race to save not one, but two worlds.

Well, there should have been at least one more season. Another story that is left unhinged.

The first movie was decent. Interesting. Long. Had to watch it in three parts. The superfluous nudity was cool. The ziggy stardust film reminded me of Keanu and Jennifer's original long slow love story, So in this remake, did woke tom cruise drop a grenade inside a slow corporate entity?

Great limited series but this is for the best. It was a complete story told and adding more would feel superfluous.

Doesn't surprise me as I was seeing it as exactly that: a closed arc. I liked it but another season would probably not be adding much.
