No Season 2 for the book-based drama.
December 9, 2022
Word is out that Half Bad: The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself has been cancelled by Netflix after one season. The news comes just over a month after the drama released its 8-episode run to mostly favorable reviews. Creator Joe Barton took to Twitter earlier today to express his disappointment in not being able to finish the story.
Based on the Half Bad trilogy of books by Sally Green, the series follows Nathan, the 16-year-old illegitimate son of a notorious witch responsible for a deadly massacre. Now caught between two warring clans, he tries to find his place in the world — as well as his powers.

"its only defender" was meant to be the nameless dweeb below.
sue's post didn't display until after mine (even though she replied earlier).

7,503 IMDb users have given a weighted average vote of 7.6 / 10 ---- maybe it wasn't half bad ----- even though its only defender is literally a basket case.

I liked this show. Netflix sucks. They cancel anything that's not an instant hit or nostalgia bait. That awful Winx live action adaptation got two seasons, but this can't? I hope the creators take the show somewhere else. If I was a creator I wouldn't sell my show to Netflix. They don't appreciate anything nor give anything a chance to grow and find a following.

Perhaps the name of the show hurt this? Something like battle of the witches might have worked.

Tim you are an idiot. This was a very good show with overly exceptional special effects. Far better than the bullshit that's polluting the tv channels now.
