Syfy Cancels 'Astrid & Lilly Save The World'

No Season 2 for the supernatural dramedy.

It is being reported by TVLine that Astrid & Lilly Save the World has been cancelled by Syfy after one season. The news comes nine months after the dramedy wrapped its 10-episode freshman run, which ultimately failed to draw a significant audience for the cable network.

The series follows the titular teenagers, who are two outcast best friends that accidentally open up a portal to a terrifyingly quirky monster dimension. As if high school life wasn't complicated enough, it's now up to them to vanquish the creatures and save the world, becoming the heroes they were always meant to be.

I'm not surprised. The series wasn't too bad, but viewers have been leaving SyFy for years. There hasn't been anything of viewing interest, since the ill timed cancellation of Sur-Real-estate, and the conclusion of Van-Helsing.

So much for saving money.

This was ok. Not surprised , because lets be honest viewers want to see attractive fit leads in a tv series. You can get away with on reginald because the rest of the cast is fit. but not with two female out of shape leads who are on screen most of the time. Because young men want buffy. . That is biology.

Doesn't surprise me. SYFY is a terrible channel. Haven't seen anything I like in years. You can only watch the Harry Potter and James Bond movies so many times.

Barely got thru 25 minutes of this claptrap. Please keep positive body shows on other networks. Not the hemorrhaging SYFYlis channel.

And get around to cancelling Reginald the Vampire. Keep that guy in the marvel universe and don't tank his career.

I agree, Melissa. A new, fresh take on alien tv shows. Love the comedy of it all. I seriously hope a streaming service will pick it up.

that sucks it was funny and original
