The hit series will return for a second season.
January 6, 2023
Netflix announced today that Wednesday has been renewed for Season 2. Coming six weeks after the release of its freshman run, the pickup is no surprise, as the show has become a breakout hit for the streaming service.
Within a month of its premiere, Wednesday reached over a billion total hours viewed. It's only the third original series on the streaming service to reach that mark. Critical reception has also been positive, and it recently received two Golden Globe nominations in the 'Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy' and 'Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy' categories.
The series follows the life of teenager Wednesday Addams, a student at Nevermore Academy, where she is honing her emerging psychic ability. While doing her best to navigate new and tangled relationships at school, she is also trying to thwart a monstrous killing spree terrorizing the local town as well as solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.

I love this show!!! I find it funny that people talk about the girl being a lesbian or whatever. Who cares really? I think that the only people worried about the sexuality of TV or movie characters are the people that have their sexuality repressed. Anything anyone is showing love on screen it should be applauded. I stop watching Seal team because they would show American soldiers killing people left and right in other countries and then get mad with the people in that country kill American soldiers. I guess that is okay, it is not "woke".

@plop
What are you saying plop? Stay on target.
A show can't jump the shark until it goes sexually woke first.

@Kbree Exactly. The shows that overly push an agenda get avoided by most because we don't want to hear it. Then the network cancels it. I am cool with gays in shows, I really really enjoyed Modern Family as an example. Great show. They had gay main characters and gay recurring characters but somehow managed to not ram it down our throats. That's an example of a show that perfectly includes everyone without making you get aggravated because of it.
Anyways, The Plopster went a bit off topic there. My point is that the networks are starting to learn and turning Wednesday gay or even bi would ruin it. Not just because of agenda or whatever but because her character is supposed to be all about being weird and kookie and spooky. I wasn't even THAT into her having minor crushes on certain guys because it takes her persona off-focus a bit. But make her character about the plights of gay or bi, then it would kill the rest of her unique character. Keep her straight with most of her focus on her weirdness and not her crushes and its all good.
Introduce some gay characters into the mix, but don't make the storylines ABOUT them being gay and the show will remain interesting to everyone who is currently a fan.
Don't ruin this cool show with agenda crap.
Rant over.

@plop you don’t think she could be bi? But yeah they’ll probably introduce gay characters instead of making her bi or something. And if they were to make her gay knowing Netflix it’d be canceled so after

They aren't going to make her a lesbian. It's already clear she likes boys. Any attempt to have her switch teams is going to be viewed as woke crap by more than half the audience and they will tune out and the show will get cancelled.
More likely they will introduce gay characters to the mix, which is fine and most people won't care as long as the show doesn't become about the gay plight.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
It's that you just know it.
