January 31, 2023
NBC announced today that La Brea has been picked up for a third season. The news comes ahead of tonight's midseason return, which will feature back-to-back episodes to kick off the back half of the sci-fi drama's sophomore run.
In the show, a massive sinkhole that opened in the middle of Los Angeles pulled hundreds of people down into a mysterious and dangerous primeval land with no choice but to band together in order to survive. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is desperate to understand what exactly happened and what it means. In the search for answers, one family is torn apart, and must work to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event so they can find a way back to each other.
Look for Season 3 of La Brea as part of NBC's 2023 fall lineup.

Unfortunately, I like this show just enough to keep watching. The second season is not as good as the first. The first episodes were campy Land of the Lost type stuff. Season 2 seems bogged down with ridiculous science fiction tropes. I may surrender my DVR space to more worthy tv.

I watched the first season and liked it until near the end of the season it got goofy. Tried to watch it this year but dropped after not being able to get through episode 2. Too busy checking all the boxes instead of making a good show.

Wow! I gave up on this way back in season 1 when the guy came out of the bush saying that he was trying to find the plane he had to bail out of cuz it was on fire and out of control, to see if he could fix it. And then, there it was, sitting in a field, waiting to be fixed. I mean... c'mon. Right then I said "nope" and shut it off.

Just a fun easy show. It is a low budget tv show that just wants to provide the viewer with typical b movie sci fi enjoyment. I like this type of show. It has no goal but just being cheap fun . This is why it does well .. so if you want a good fun show this is for you. Its like a b movie from the past. If you want deep sc fi try the expanse , or other shows.

I'd stopped watching it during season 1. I was just not interested in it.

I watched the first season with my parents and was astounded by how bad it was. I really doubt the second season made any great strides so this is just bizarre

Seriously, it got renewed? How it even got renewed for a second season was shocking enough.

Wow, didn't expect a renewal. This is one of those shows I realize isn't that good, but I have to watch it!

The predictable Lost wannabe gets a 3rd shot.
