The network has reversed the show's previous renewal.

It is being reported that AMC has cancelled Soulmates, reversing the renewal handed out to the show over two years ago. The news does not come as a surprise considering the lengthy delay, plus AMC Networks has been making an effort to cut costs in recent months, which has affected numerous productions.
Set 15 years in the future, Soulmates takes place in a world where science has advanced to the point that a test can unequivocally tell people who their soulmate is - and it changes the lives of everybody on the planet. It is an anthology, featuring six different stories with six different casts.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about this show, it's been so long.
I thought about half the stories were good, but the others tried too hard for a Black Mirror kind of twist. Even so, I was looking forward to the second season.

First time I am hearing of this series. Did they get of racism and ideological extremism in this supposed future, because all the advancement in science still hasn't done so yet. Case in point other than social media - the comments on this website....

Even a good show will perish if there’s a 3 year hiatus. This was not a show that could handle that long of a layoff.

Turns out nobody cared for the AMC take. Was it nonsense? I don't need the future to find my one in a million pulchritudinous philosopher esthete cooking dinner.
