No Season 2 for the novel-based drama.
March 13, 2023
Word is out that Three Pines has been cancelled by Prime Video after just one season. Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers, who plays Isabelle, broke the news on Instragram with a heartfelt post thanking those who supported the show. The drama premiered in December with an 8-episode run that garnered an overall positive reception from viewers and critics.
Based on Louise Penny's best-selling novels, the drama follows Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, who sees things that others may not: the light between the cracks, the mythic in the mundane, and the evil in the seemingly ordinary. While investigating a string of murders in the idyllic village of Three Pines in the Eastern Townships, he discovers long-buried secrets that force him to face ghosts of his own.

I do feel better thank you so much for asking. Your compassion towards your fellow man is astounding.
I know who I am and thats, Not another Chris, who are you?
I guess you don't see the irony in your comment, as you yourself is a keyboard warrior, trying and failing to bully me.
There is something to see here.

You feel better about yourself now that you belittled someone you don’t even know? In the comments section of an entertainment page no less. I could say shit about you right back but I’m sure you already know who you really are. Just an another keyboard warrior trying to bully yet another unsuspecting victim for no reason. Nothing to see here.

Figures. Watching it right now, and its enjoyable. I haven't been bombarded with all the woke crap that other shows keep trying to convince everyone to be interested in, its well acted, the main characters are interesting, I do like the way they weave episodic and the longer plot lines together.
Typical. Probably need to make room for some lesser garbage.

I’m not surprised. I love this book series, but this first season did not capture the charm and close family like experience that pulls people to Three Pines. The villagers were all dark and skeptical. Whoever made the show did not understand that the murders are a side story. The main story is the characters and their relationships. How they keep their light in the midst of darkness and support, encourage and lift everyone up through dark times. The books made you want to move into Three Pines, stay at Gabri’s b and b, have lunch at the bistro while reading a good book from the book store, all while chatting with Clara and Ruth and the rest…the show made me want to avoid Three Pines and the instense people living there at all costs. I thought the actors did a good job with the roles they were told to portray, but the writing and directing missed the mark

I'm so bummed! Elle was amazing, Alfred was amazing, it had a great multilayered storyline. It wasn't the same dreck we see everywhere else. This is what I hate sometimes about streaming - you find something really good and then bam! Gone, because they want to put out more dating shows or some nonsense like that.

Such a shame. Still I suppose it wasn't a fast enough pace for the younger viewers. Something with substance such as this can't be done fast enough to keep the attention of those with smaller brains.

@Another Chris... you've been waiting your whole life for this type of show? What did you do after its premiere? What will you do now that it was cancelled? What does the color of someone's skin have to do with ratings and storytelling? I hope you will be able to fund this show back into existence and many other shows about Native Americans/ First Nations since there are so many great stories to tell and you are a big champion of them. I wish you luck.

I’m so very disappointed. I thought the entire cast did a great job portraying the marvelous characters of Three Pines, one of my most favorite book series of all time. Alfred Molina was very true to the picture in my head of Gamache. I was completely looking forward to other seasons. What is wrong with Prime? What were they thinking?

what a great show, very disappointed in Primes decision to cancel. Hopefully maybe this can be saved by Netflix or another streamer.
