It is being reported that Sex/Life has been cancelled by Netflix after two seasons. It has been just over a month since the drama returned for its shortened 6-episode sophomore run after a nearly two-year wait between seasons.

The writing appeared to be on the wall that the show would not continue after star Sarah Shahi opened up about struggles she had while filming the second season. On this week's episode of the 'Not Skinny But Not Fat' podcast, Shahi said of the show, "I'm not going to put it down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show. It became a much different thing for me, and I'm not afraid to say that. I struggled with the material. I just felt the thing that it had the first season — I mean, I'm never gonna work for Netflix again now after saying all this, but I can't lie. And it was definitely a challenge."

Based on the novel '44 Chapters About 4 Men' by BB Easton, the series stars Shahi as stay-at-home suburban wife and mom Billie Connelly. In her younger years, she was a free-spirited wild child living in New York, and when her bad-boy former flame comes back into her life, Billie's sexual past collides with her present family life as she remembers the sense of freedom she once had.
