The crime drama is coming back for a second season.

ABC announced today that Will Trent has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes with three episodes remaining in the drama's 13-episode freshman run, which concludes on May 2. The show premiered earlier this year as a midseason entry, garnering a positive reception from viewers and critics.
Based on the hit book series by Karin Slaughter, the series follows Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), who was abandoned at birth and grew up in Atlanta's overwhelmed foster care system. Determined to use his unique point of view to ensure nobody else is abandoned like he was, Trent has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.
Look for Season 2 of Will Trent during the 2023-2024 season. It is not yet known if it will stay a midseason show or be moved to the regular fall schedule.

I watched the first few episodes expecting a fresh take on cop procedural dramas, but it rapidly devolved into the same-old, same-old.

I really enjoy watching this show. I wish they had shown more episodes on a weekly basis. I thought maybe the show was in trouble, but it's renewed!

Great show! I love Ramon Rodriguez and the way in which he portrays Will Trent. Good plots too!

I'm shocked it got renewed with the stop and start schedule it was on. That kind of thing can kill a show.

This show is fire, I wasn't thinking it would be a great show but really enjoyed it. Not surprised it was renewed.

By the 5th or 6th episode... it's the SAME as all other cop/detective shows on network tv. There's absolutely NOTHING special about this show...
