Netflix announced today that the next installment in the 'Monster' franchise will be titled 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.' It was announced last November that the streamer had ordered two additional installments of the true-crime drama series after 'Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,' broke records and became one of only four shows to ever reach 1 billion view hours in its first 60 days.
From Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the first installment in the anthology series examines the horrific true crimes of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, with a focus on the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed a notorious serial killer to continue his murderous spree for over a decade.
The next installment will focus on Lyle and Erik Menendez, two brothers who were convicted of murdering their parents in the 1990s. Look for 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story' in 2024.

Lyle and Erik Menendez - they murdered their parents. It's unfortunate that there's so much appetite for the sordid stuff of not too distant past. Like many of the others, this has been covered ad nauseam as has all its players. If you're young enough not to know about it, you'd be fine to keep it that way. There were many fascinating aspects related to these rich misunderstood boys, but there's plenty of other interesting and more productive things to be entertained by.
