The cop drama will not return for a second season.
May 8, 2023
It is being reported that East New York has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes ahead of this Sunday's season finale, which will now serve as the series ender.
The procedural drama follows Regina Haywood, the newly promoted deputy inspector of East New York, a working-class neighborhood of Brooklyn. She leads a diverse group of officers and detectives, some of whom are reluctant to utilize her creative methods of law enforcement during the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification.

Maybe CBS can do 2 right things and give this show a 13 episode season 2. Obviously they listened with SWAT. I do not mind 10-13 episode seasons. Better than nothing.

And this is why most people do not invest time in watching a New Network program... They hardly ever make it past season 1!

Bummer. I think this show was decent. Why does this one get canceled and crap like NCIS Los Angeles (or any NCIS show) keeps going year after year?
