CBS Cancels 'East New York'

The cop drama will not return for a second season.

It is being reported that East New York has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes ahead of this Sunday's season finale, which will now serve as the series ender.

The procedural drama follows Regina Haywood, the newly promoted deputy inspector of East New York, a working-class neighborhood of Brooklyn. She leads a diverse group of officers and detectives, some of whom are reluctant to utilize her creative methods of law enforcement during the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification.

omg i cant believe this is a great show,,please dont cancle it,,give it another season,,,hopfully someone else will pick it up,,im getting sick of cds

Good show. If it was this or SWAT, I will take 13 more episodes of SWAT. P.S. Amanda Warren or Jimmy Smits or the detectives could pop up as guest stars in Blue Bloods? Why not? that could be fun.

Strong female lead, good story line, why would you cancel this? Give this a chance. Why are you canceling dramas?

Please change your minds renew. East New York it’s a good police drama. Of New York with such great actors. It’s good to see different nationalities together as police officers trying to save our city .

Very disappointed this was canceled. I really hope it gets picked up by a streamer.

Wow I cannot believe CBS caved and kept SWAT then axed East New York. I think it was the wrong move for sure. Loved East New York!
