No Season 2 for the movie-based drama.
May 8, 2023
Word is out that True Lies has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes the week before next Wednesday's 2-hour finale, which will now serve as the action dramedy's series ender.
The cancellation does not come as a surprise, as the show has struggled to find a sizeable audience since its early March premiere. Airing Wednesday nights, it was consistently one of CBS' lowest-rated scripted originals.
Adapted from the hit 1994 film of the same name, True Lies follows an unremarkable suburban homemaker who discovers her unremarkable computer-consultant husband is leading a double life as an international spy for U.S. intelligence agency Omega Sector. This shocking secret puts the couple and their kids in jeopardy, forcing them to work together on covert missions in the international world of espionage.

I watched it. My wife liked it. The series was just OK. I would have watched a S2 if the series survived. Oh well. That TV industry can be brutal and short:(
I rewatched the 1994 True Lies movie which was pretty darn good (before flat screen monitors being used).
The series didn't have much to do with the Tasker children, unlike the movie which gave quite a bit to the daughter (Eliza Dushku, good work!).

You gotta love all those "they can't come up with anything original anymore" comments ignoring the Schwarzenegger movie itself was a remake of a french movie.

So disappointed that True lies was cancelled. Great show and great cast. I guess CBS just want to air NCIS and FBI spin offs.

CBS sucks anyway and they have made a big mistake by canceling True Lies. It should have at least been given a second season. If they didn't have Young Sheldon, Bob Hearts Abishola and The Neighborhood they wouldn't have anything that people would want to see on a regular basis.
Don't get it twisted

When I saw this promo, I thought "a series NOW?" Three decades after the original? And the only original actor you got was Tom Arnold? Doomed. And sure enough, canceled after only a few months. That it had no well known actors also didn't help. Some dude from Reba and some girl from She-Hulk absolutely does not count. Maybe come up with original ideas, or at the very least if you're gonna mine an old movie or show for ideas, do something interesting with it.

Trying to not reading comments that is not about the show itself .
But.....
Cancelled because there are no LGBTQXYZ characters.
race swap some of the characters to add woke points.
Please.
Either it is cancelled for being to woke or not woke enough .
As most shows, sigh, it's just a show.
Superficial , bland, silly. Yes.
But it is short and a simple time not to worry about wars and hunger with comfort food on the couch.
But this show clearly needed a better direction. It was going nowhere . Fun , well, I don't feel that I missed anything getting another beer from the fridge.
Shameless any day.
Take care

Original movie was good. This was crap. It should have been new characters with similar story instead of trying to recreate the original and race swap some of the characters to add woke points.
