Word is out that True Lies has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes the week before next Wednesday's 2-hour finale, which will now serve as the action dramedy's series ender.
The cancellation does not come as a surprise, as the show has struggled to find a sizeable audience since its early March premiere. Airing Wednesday nights, it was consistently one of CBS' lowest-rated scripted originals.
Adapted from the hit 1994 film of the same name, True Lies follows an unremarkable suburban homemaker who discovers her unremarkable computer-consultant husband is leading a double life as an international spy for U.S. intelligence agency Omega Sector. This shocking secret puts the couple and their kids in jeopardy, forcing them to work together on covert missions in the international world of espionage.

I like the show, but I'm not surprised… It's probably too light-hearted for today's audience.

I knew this was coming the day they aired the trailer for it. No originality what so ever. Funny how writers are going on strike, but what are they going on strike for? They refurbish everything. "Oh, here's a script that's already written. Let me put in a few different words and change the characters ethnicity and sex....I'm a great writer."

HA! Called it 10 minutes into episode one. This show just stunk.. relied solely name recognition. Scripts, acting.. all very sub-par.
(And realize James Cameron's name is on this turd due to the FILM... I doubt he actually had ANYTHING to do with this series ... other than giving permission to use the name and characters.)

Whiskey Cavalier was way better and that was canceled so I was surprised True Lies was given the green light as a show.

Not a surprise, we gave up on this show weeks ago, Could have been better. Oh Well!

One of the producers is James Cameron and his show probably would't have gotten cancelled unless warranted.

I really enjoyed the show Sorry to hear that it was cancelled Hopefully it won't end on a cliffhanger.
