The Negan & Maggie spin-off will return for Season 2.

AMC announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that The Walking Dead: Dead City has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes ahead of this Sunday's freshman finale, which will cap a solid debut outing that garnered generally positive feedback from viewers and critics.
"This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for Dead City," said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. "We can't wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan."
Set after the events of 'The Walking Dead,' the series follows Maggie and Negan as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long cut off from the mainland. The crumbling concrete jungle is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world built on anarchy, danger, and terror.

TWDDC Finals : Maggie clearly hasn't forgiven Negan....
So.. 6 episodes just to show zip lining and get Maggie and Negan on Manhattan. That's all.
This "universe" is all stick, no carrot. They'll string viewers along for as long as they can... The writers/producers are AFRIAD to actually wrap anything up. Because then they'll all have to go find new jobs.
It's now "The Walking Tease Universe".
Why can't amc get a clue and thin out the dead offerings a bit. Episodes 1-5 was a great story. Episode 6 went back to a cliffhanger, and don't you never want it to end?
We know what season two is. Negan is reformed so he becomes a big baddy but secretly figures out how to take out the grandparents. The cliffhanger might be that Negan might have to stay so New York doesn't collapse. Maggie, flatly repeats acting we've seen and angst's out 'who is the villain." Lions and tigers and bears. And Herschel contemplates his navel.
This spin off was primed for a great conclusion and pausing and revisiting in a few years. But amc just can't help but bleed it.
