AMC announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that The Walking Dead: Dead City has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes ahead of this Sunday's freshman finale, which will cap a solid debut outing that garnered generally positive feedback from viewers and critics.
"This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for Dead City," said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. "We can't wait to bring Dead City fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan."
Set after the events of 'The Walking Dead,' the series follows Maggie and Negan as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long cut off from the mainland. The crumbling concrete jungle is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world built on anarchy, danger, and terror.

Plus with only one episode left, I feel there is more stories they can tell so I'm looking forward to at least one more season.
They REALLY need to retool the writing staff and show runner here. There's NOTHING new. Exceptionally weak and kind of comical "bad guys" - grandpa and grandma are evil!!!! I mean.. come on.. all this money and THIS is what they create???
Honestly, it really comes across like it's written and produced by younger individuals that have really never had to face any real world challenges and THIS is what they imagine difficult times are like - a bunch of emotional entanglements.. not actual real world struggles. All the "battles" here are emotional-based.. where's the "survival" aspect??? oh, that's right.. it died in season 5 of The Walking Dead.
