No Season 2 for the high profile drama.

Word is out that HBO has cancelled The Idol after one season. Coming less than two months after its freshman finale, the news is no surprise as the drama garnered a less-than-favorable reception from critics and viewers.
"The Idol was one of HBO's most provocative original programs, and we're pleased by the strong audience response. After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season," said the cable network in a statement. "We're grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible work."
The series stars Lily-Rose Depp as Jocelyn, an up-and-coming pop star looking to get her career back on track after a nervous breakdown caused her last tour to be canceled. To claim her status as the hottest pop idol in America, she begins a complicated relationship with unsavory promoter Tedros, played by pop star The Weeknd, who has a sordid past.

"It's obvious", "we all know"... The only obvious thing about people who regularly need those to sound convincing is that whatever follows is at the very least questionable, if not laughable.

Simultaneously, a few enlightened (woke) Hollywood creators were working on a ignominy for HBO, and a few erstwhile canceled misanthropes were spinning their grot right here. The bands, and their follower(s), would sometimes fight among themselves over their sh*t shows and ultimately disown their creations. Feigns were bruited: Why is this allowed on the internet? Why is everything made out to be a culture war? Whilst spreading gasoline from the cover of their hoodies. Left standing were their tiny throng-sourced triumphs: Elbae and The Idol.

I was wondering earlier what kinda mental gymnastics one has to do to consider this show "woke"....
Enter our very own Steve S. Dude has done so much mental gymnastics he forgot basic logic. "The show was so woke, the woke rejected it", he postulates, while having lost the plot that the opposite of woke is not more woke, its proud boys like him.

I couldn’t get past episode two. The acting was horrendous. Storyline was horrible too.

Who's Who of shell companies and on-the-spot handles. Biden's at least 20 shell companies belie obvious corruption even though regularly denied. Everyone knows Joe is a lying fraud. On-the-spot handles belie degenerates as well when it's obvious they're being used by the same couple of losers who consistently demonstrate the worthlessness of the actual nihilist. They regularly borrow other's user names which to them is masturbation. It's all they got. Most of us figure them out, not by their names, but by their smell. Way to fan the flames Larry. When you look in the mirror you see an old hypocrite fart. You blew whatever chance for people to come together with a laugh. And you also missed that some people did like The Idol. Sometimes the critics hating something so bad is a sign it will be a cult classic. I hope not.
