No Season 3 for the wrestling drama.
September 25, 2023
It is being reported that Starz has cancelled Heels after two seasons. The news comes less than two weeks after the wrestling drama wrapped its 8-episode sophomore run, which returned in July after a nearly two year absence. Like its first season, Season 2 again garnered praise from both critics and audiences.
Set in the close-knit community of Duffy, Georgia, the series follows brothers Jack and Ace Spade, who war over their late father's wrestling promotion. Jack runs the operation and writes the storylines, where somebody must portray the good guy and somebody must be their nemesis, aka the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or leave behind.

I’m a big wrestling fan. Have been for many years. This show felt like what a non-fan thinks independent wrestling is like. Which is strange because I know Stephen Amell is a fan. Don’t feel that bad about seeing something he’s involved with go away though.
It’s the kind of show I definitely hoped would be better than it was.

a rare example of a show about normal working people, no billionaires, rock stars or monarchs. A real shame to loose this one

That's a shame. I enjoyed the show and it could not have cost much to make.

One of the few short-season shows I like, of course it gets cancelled. Maybe Amazon can take it over.
