Peacock announced today that Based on a True Story has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes four months after the comedic thriller released its freshman run to a favorable reception from both viewers and critics.
A satire of the true crime genre with elements that are loosely inspired by true events, the series follows Nathan and Ava, a married couple struggling to stay afloat in their lives. As a serial killer starts to make headlines in Los Angeles, they team up with a plumber to seize a unique opportunity to capitalize on everyone's obsession with true crime.

First season has many plot twists, but story didn't really go anywhere and had no "conclusion"; I'll most likely pass up the 2nd year... especially since it was described initially as a "mini-series" and might now get stretched out ad infinitum.
