Netflix announced today that Elite will be coming to an end after its already-ordered eighth season. The news comes two days before the Spanish drama releases Season 7, so fans still have more story to look forward to before it says goodbye next year.

Since its debut in 2018, the series has been steadily churning out a new season each year - even releasing two seasons in 2022. It ranks as one of Netflix's longest-running scripted dramas of all time.

Elite follows a group of working-class students who are given scholarships to an exclusive private school in Spain. But their arrival clashes with their new wealthy classmates, and the tension leads to a murder, leaving everybody a suspect. Subsequent seasons have followed new arrivals at the school, and the secrets and crimes that come along with them.

For Season 8, original star Mina El Hammani will be returning to reprise her role as Nadia, who has not been seen since Season 3.
