The sci-fi drama's story will continue.
December 5, 2023
Apple TV+ announced today that Foundation has been picked up for a third season. The news comes less than three months after the sci-fi drama wrapped its sophomore run, which saw an improved reception from critics and viewers compared to Season 1.
"We have all been incredibly impressed with the ambitious, action-packed and imaginative adaptation that David and the rest of this gifted creative team and cast have brought to life with this premium sci-fi series from day one," said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. "To watch Foundation become such a global hit has been beyond exciting with audiences around the world continuing to be captivated week after week by this dramatic and compelling journey to save humanity. We can't wait for everyone to experience what is in store for characters old and new in season three."
Based on Isaac Asimov's novel series of the same name, the show takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire, where a band of exiles known as The Foundation embark on a monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization.

Fantastic! One of the better Sci-fi adaptations. Love the depth of the plots, the characters and the cgi.

What a dumb comment. If a show takes two seasons to become good then it deserves to be cancelled. I give a show 4 or 5 episodes at the most... If it can't hook me by then, I'm out.

Nice to see this show pickup another season. I feel like people should give new shows at least 2 seasons because a lot of time the first season is just building the "Foundation" for what could be a very good series.
