Netflix announced today that Squid Game: The Challenge has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes ahead of tonight's freshman finale, which will crown the competition series' first champion and award them with $4.56 million - the biggest prize in reality show history.
"There was no red light in our decision to greenlight season two of Squid Game: The Challenge, the most ambitious unscripted show we've premiered at Netflix," said Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of Nonfiction Series. "We're so excited to continue the franchise of Squid Game with our team in Korea, and producers at Studio Lambert and The Garden for this epic competition series."
Based off the hit Korean drama, the series features the largest cast in reality TV history, bringing 456 players together to compete in games taken mostly from the TV show. Large numbers of contestants are eliminated in each episode until just three remain to battle it out in hopes of taking home the grand prize.

Not a bad show... until...
This show doesn't need 10 episodes. Stuff went way way way way way way too long with interviews and 'getting to know people.'
This could have been a quick 6 episode, most awesome gameshow.
Netflix finds a hit, but stretches it thin and renews And they are raising my monthly fee in December.
On the plus side, they did just rent/drop a huge amount of blocbusters. Watch 'em now, cause January and the new rate hikes kick in.
