The animated series will return for Season 2.
December 11, 2023
Netflix announced today that Blue Eye Samurai has been renewed for a second season. The news comes a month after the animated series released its 8-episode freshman run to high praise from both viewers and critics.
"When we started this project, we made a commitment to take this very personal story set in Edo-period Japan and bring it to life in the most authentic and beautiful way possible. Our animators, historians, musicians, martial artists and voice cast made this a reality beyond our expectations," said creators, executive producers and writers Amber Noizumi and Michael Green. "We are thankful to our entire team and to our viewers from all over the world who have shown such passion for Mizu and her path of revenge. Mizu has a lot more blood to spill! We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners at Netflix for letting the journey continue."
Set in Edo-period Japan, Blue Eye Samurai follows Mizu, a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise seeking the deliverance of revenge against those who made her an outcast.

I'm looking forward to it. I haven't heard much about it before I saw it on Netflix, and I must admit it's properly one of my favorite Netflix TV show in 2023...
Despite I normally doesn't watch a lot of animation TV shows.
Lets just hope Netflix doesn't f... it up like they did with season 2 of Shadows & Bones.
I can't wait to see what happens to Mizu in season 2
