No Season 3 for the Kaley Cuoco thriller.
January 19, 2024
Word is out that The Flight Attendant will not be returning to Max for a third season. The news comes over a year-and-a-half after the thriller wrapped its 8-episode sophomore run.
The show debuted in 2020 as a limited series based on Chris Bohjalian's novel of the same name. But after it was met with high praise and strong viewership, the streamer opted for a new season that continued the adventures of its lead character. While there was no concrete news on the show's future until today, a third season did seem unlikely, as star Kaley Cuoco hinted after the Season 2 finale that "We did two — we should probably be done." A new statement released today solidified that point.
"What started out as an attention-grabbing book cover quickly evolved into an extraordinary flight of a lifetime," Cuoco said. "I always envisioned TFA as a limited series and thanks to an incredible creative team, we were able to deliver two thrilling seasons. Personally, playing Cassie has been a dream come true and I am so grateful for everyone who played a part in bringing this extremely original series to life."
Season 1 of the series followed Cassie Bowden, a flight attendant who wakes up hungover in a Bangkok hotel room to find a dead body next to her. With no memories of what happened the night before, she sets out to unravel the mystery of what actually happened. In Season 2, Cassie was drawn into a brand new mystery now moonlighting as an asset for the CIA.

This was expected. Season 1 was dark but fun, Season 2 was dark and depressing. I gave up with 2 or 3 episodes to go, haven't picked them up yet.
