Fox announced today that Don't Forget the Lyrics! has been picked up for a third season that will begin airing this May. The musical game show premiered in 2022 as an updated version of the 2007 original prime time series, which also aired on Fox before moving into syndication for two seasons in 2010.
Hosted by Niecy Nash, the show tasks contestants with putting their musical memory to the test. They choose songs from a variety of genres, decades and artists, and then sing alongside the studio band as the lyrics are displayed on-screen - until the music stops and the words disappear. The contestants must then try to sing the correct missing lyrics. If they get nine songs correct, they are presented with a #1 hit and must sing the final missing lyrics for the $1 million grand prize.
Season 3 of Don't Forget the Lyrics! premieres on Thursday, May 16.

That's good news. One change I would make to this show is if a contestant gets a song wrong, it should be more like "Beat Shazam" where they can continue to play with the final song being worth double their bank rather than $1 million.
