ABC announced today that Will Trent has been renewed for a third season. The news comes five episodes into the crime drama's sophomore run, which has been garnering solid ratings for the network across both linear viewing and streaming. The current season will come in at just 10 episodes due to last year's writers strike.
Based on the hit book series by Karin Slaughter, the show follows Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), who was abandoned at birth and grew up in Atlanta's overwhelmed foster care system. Determined to use his unique point of view to ensure nobody else is abandoned like he was, Trent has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.
Look for Season 3 of Will Trent during the 2024-2025 season.

Good news!
However, I wish they'd focus on the main character (and his colleagues). Drives me loopy how at least 25% of the show features Detectives Boop and Betty pursuing an entirely different, and usually dumb, case. I like these cop characters, but they should be folded into the main plot instead of making two shows in one.
