No Season 3 for the detective drama.
April 19, 2024
It is being reported that So Help Me Todd has been cancelled by CBS after two seasons. The news comes with four episodes remaining in the drama's now-final run, with its May 16 episode now set to serve as its series ender.
Creator Scott Prendergast took to Instagram following the news, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the show as well as all the viewers, calling it the best professional experience of his life. See his full post below.
The show has been garnering decent ratings so far this season, but it does rank as one of the lowest-watched dramas on the network. It appears today's cancellation was needed in order to make room on the schedule for one of its upcoming new dramas set for the 2024-2025 season.
So Help Me Todd follows a guy named Todd, who has always wanted to be a private detective. Now that he is, he's very good at it. When his lawyer mom offers him a job as an in-house investigator at her firm, he reluctantly agrees - as long as she promises to let him be who he wants to be.

WTF - Shame on you CBS.
I cannot wrap my head around the fact that CBS wants to keep Elsbeth but cancels Todd. In what world is Elsbeth better than Todd. The viewership for Elsbeth will continue to drop as the season goes on and they will realize their mistake. Might be time for CBS to get a new program director.

Another good show bites the dust, while all the garbage reality shows and shows on streaming services stay on. So writers strike ends and we start canceling things.. CBS doesn't want to show anything because they want you to but Paramount+.Why start watching new show, waste to invest the time.

Hmm… so just looked at the “guide” for the week and seeing some great shows on CBS. Would pick this show over Tracker, The Equalizer and even NCIS Hawaii. Didn’t care for CSI. The characters are just not likable so not sad it’s being cancelled. Todd and this family are very likable even the new character who has a thing for him. Hopefully another network will pick it up.
I hate CBS

Television can't keep shows on these days. They can cancel a show so quick, what a waste.

Horrible decision. I also object to it being cancelled because "it does rank as one of the lowest-watched dramas on the network.". I don't consider it a drama.

No!! This show is my fave! Finally a light, fun, comedic detective show!! Skylar Astin and Marcia GH are fabulous together! There are so many great characters in this show, Susan, Lyle and that black panther of a woman, their sultry boss. (Can't think of her name). Among CBS!!Give it another chance and get rid of some of the tired old detective shows that take themselves way too seriously.
