No Season 3 for the detective drama.
April 19, 2024
It is being reported that So Help Me Todd has been cancelled by CBS after two seasons. The news comes with four episodes remaining in the drama's now-final run, with its May 16 episode now set to serve as its series ender.
Creator Scott Prendergast took to Instagram following the news, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the show as well as all the viewers, calling it the best professional experience of his life. See his full post below.
The show has been garnering decent ratings so far this season, but it does rank as one of the lowest-watched dramas on the network. It appears today's cancellation was needed in order to make room on the schedule for one of its upcoming new dramas set for the 2024-2025 season.
So Help Me Todd follows a guy named Todd, who has always wanted to be a private detective. Now that he is, he's very good at it. When his lawyer mom offers him a job as an in-house investigator at her firm, he reluctantly agrees - as long as she promises to let him be who he wants to be.

Shame on you CBS for canceling So Help Me Todd and renewing SWAT! This was such a good show light funny and interesting a fresh turn vs vs others which are stale and worn out with over the top acting and tired storylines! UGH!

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???
This has become my absolute favourite show. MGH is an absolute gem and has great comedic chops. Skylar Aston was born to play Todd.
BAD CALL CBS!!!

Please don't cancel this program. It's one of the best shows that I have seen and enjoyed in a very long time. It's not often that I will change my schedule to watch a TV show, but I do for this one. Actually, my whole family loves it. As a reminder, it takes time for a show to catch on with viewers, give shows a chance. Don't be so impatient or interested in the revenue.

This is absurd! Such a great, fun show. I looked forward to each time it aired. CBS wouldn't know a good thing if it licked it in the face...Blue Bloods, and now this? But SWAT (which, I too love) has some type of magical voodoo spell on CBS. Wow.

WTF CBS!? First CSI now this! There's something seriously wrong with network tv right now. Way too many great shows getting canceled here lately...

Not too surprising. This is the first year in a while that I haven't really kept up with the experts who track renewal odds (they were basically saying that this year would be unpredictable anyway, what with the strike in the fall), but I remember them saying that this show was one of the ones that only barely made the cut last year. Unless it got a dramatic upswing in viewers this year (or most of this year's new shows flopped) it wasn't likely to survive.

We just watched this tonite and we’re saying what a great show it was. Then I see this! Cannot believe they’re keeping Elsbeth, but not this. SWAT is a rubbish show - so of course they keep it.

CBS you suck for cancelling such a great show. A show with lovable characters and the dynamic relationship between Todd and his mom is priceless. F*** you CBS!!!!

Seriously! This is one of the best shows, so cleverly written and phenomenal acting... SWAT has run it's course, even most of the cast has figured that out.
