The sitcom will return in 2024-2025.

NBC announced today that Night Court has been renewed for a third season. The news comes a month after the comedy wrapped its sophomore run, which continued to do well for the network, ranking as its #1 primetime comedy in both total viewers and the 18-49 demographic.
A follow-up to the 1984 sitcom of the same name, Night Court follows Abby Stone, the daughter of the late Harry Stone. An eternal optimist, she is following in her father's footsteps by presiding over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court. Judge Stone spends her nights trying to bring order to the court's crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding.
Look for Season 3 of Night Court during the 2024-2025 season.

Well, it's not nearly as good as the original. Ms. Rauch just doesn't hold the series together the way Harry Anderson did. But it's slowly gotten better with time. Once they develop the characters more fully it could be a lot better.

Rauch in a figure-hiding black robe every episode is not doing this series any favors. And yeah.. get rid of the goofy "Gurgs" character. This needs a stone wall, unfunny, straight man (like Roz). And the lady playing the prosecutor.. don't know her name.. just a very odd, staccato, weird, dialog delivery in EVERY scene. She speaks like she's reading lines.. not actually speaking.

Could not agree more with @Eric. All I can see every time she is in a scene is a toddler saying "Look at me Mommy!!! I'm acting funny'

One of my all time favorite scenes/quote from the original show for some reason:
Dan Fielding : My name is Dan. Dan Fielding.
Kumok : Hello, Dan-Dan Fielding!
I absolutely hate the character of "Gurgs". She is terrible.
RIP Harry, Bull, Mac and so many others

As a lifelong Night Court fan I can say that this is indeed a proper continuation of the original series. Good or bad . . . It is totally 'Night Court'.
