HGTV announced today that Ugliest House in America has been picked up for a sixth season. The network has ordered six new episodes of the hit unscripted series, plus it has greenlighted a new spinoff series titled 'Scariest House in America' that will air this October.
In Ugliest House in America, comedian Retta travels the country to look at properties nominated by owners who think they have the ugliest home. In each episode, she shares her hot takes of the bad designs, cringe-worthy layouts and sorely outdated styles. Based on its ugly appearance, poor functionality and hideous design choices, one house is crowned the ugliest house in America by HGTV and receives a $150,000 renovation by designer Alison Victoria.
Look for Season 6 of Ugliest House in America in 2025.

No house has yet been worse than the Poseidon house on season 1 episode 1. If I was walking down that street, the statue in the front yard would give me nightmares.

I love the episode where they redid an African american home and used confederate and union colors in the kitchen (gray and blue).

The program is fun to watch, but most of the time, they pick the wrong house as the ugliest. I wish they would pick the ugliest house with the neediest owners so it would be more gratifying in the end. Nevertheless, it's a nice alternative to seeing average home renovation shows that serve/feature the wealthy.

I am confused. Is the point of this show to find the ugliest house or make the ugliest house? That seems to be what they do.

I’m so looking forward to season 6, it’s a great series and fun to see how other people live. Retta is hilarious and she and Allison are a great team!

This show is sooo funny, I enjoy Retta and her reactions, and I like the dynamic with her and Alison, however I do feel some houses need more attention than what they choose, but mind you they have 150,000 budget and don’t wanna go over that so I think the also pick the ones that are somewhat of an easier project and will come out successfully

This show should be called "Ugly houses and a generic renovation." They go to some strange houses the pick a standard house that needs no structural changes so the can repaint it and do a boring, cheap, and easy reno. The premise loses all basis after that. They air all the episodes in a week because if anyone takes too long a break between them they won't come back.
Don't choose a winner, let America choose, or choose an actual ugly house

Great news, I only just discovered this show and it is entertaining!! All of the picks are hideous and I always question the "winner" each week but ugly is ugly. The winner of this season's renovation got a great redo and the house came out nice!! I am going to go back and watch the prior seasons.
