Word is out that Halo has been cancelled by Paramount+ after two seasons. The news comes four months after the video game-based drama wrapped its 8-episode sophomore run on the streaming service.
"We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their outstanding work," Paramount+ said in a statement. "We wish everyone the best going forward."
"We deeply appreciate the millions of fans who propelled the Halo series to be a global success and we remain committed to broadening the Halo universe in different ways in the future," added 343 Industries. "We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their partnership in bringing our expansive sci-fi universe to viewers around the world."
In Halo, there is a war for the survival of humanity in the 26th century, with humans warring against an alien threat called the Covenant. Master Chief is mankind's best weapon against the invaders, as he was trained for the single purpose of winning this very war.

Those who complain that a show "is too woke" don't know a good show from a bad show from a whole in the ground (or their own assholes from a hole in the gound, IF they can even find that particular hole with both hands and a map!) I don't even think they know what "woke" means, Hell, I DON'T even know what "woke" means other than it means that I was just disturbed from my nap!!!
I was excited to see where the development of the other two team members would go. That type of Spec Ops team dynamic is pretty intnese. I personaly don't have Spec Ops experience, in my MOS we manly supported them iff al hell broke loose and they had to boogie on back across the lines while we were the mean assed heavily armored and armed wall that stopped anyone pursuing!
But my Baby Brother, yeah, he has 17 years Spec Ops, hates "hollywooded up" movies and show portrayals of Spec Ops. There are damn few good movies/shows that show the true side.
From a SciFi point of View Halo was doing well. Suuuure, there were some scattered plots, The gal from the mining lanet and her story line was a bit slow.
The doc who created the spartan program, while the actor was doing well inj the role, the plot development was weak as far as she was concerned and the spartan program. Could have used longer seasons or more writing diving into the topic.
As for the one human in the Covenant, again, I'm sorry I forget the names again (old age sucks) that plot line was tricky, I THINK they (writers) were getting around to devloping it, but again, more shows, seasons were needed to explain some sutff.
I've never big a big "follower" of the Halo franchise, I'm not a "gamer" per se, I grew up before the age of Nintendo, hell, Atari was just becoming the latest and greates! Or even ColecoVision!!! but we did enjoying playing some "Kill Kill" with the X-Box during our down time at night. well, until COD came out, hehe.
But one TV, four firefighters, lot's of screen-watching cheating going on!! ;-)
I'm actually kind of surprised that it got a second season given the level of vitriol Halo fans seemed to have for it from day one.
Hopefully we get a Halo spin-off movie out of this.
All the "woke" are morons in their own right and wouldn't know a good OR bad show if it bit them on the ass.
We would play Halo on our down time in the evening at the fire station.
