It is being reported by Variety that Wicked Tuna has been cancelled by National Geographic after 13 seasons. On the air since 2012, the reality show was one of the network's longest-running series, tallying over 200 episodes.
Set in the unrelenting North Atlantic waters of Massachusetts, the show followed captains who are relied upon by their families and shipmates to haul in boatloads of the large, but elusive, bluefin tuna. The pressure is intense, as the fishing season is short and tuna populations are dwindling. Viewers got an in-depth look at the fierce competition, including crushing losses and big paydays.

@pat BSG the winter one just premiered this past Friday August 16, 2024. But it was the worse episode I've seen and seems it will be a filler and it's back to an hour episode.

13 seasons is quite a long run. A fishing show none the less.So it had a great run , now what happened to bering sea gold? MY fave.

Damn and yes! When i saw this announcement just now i was in shock as i loved the show and watched every episode since its inception.
Then i thought about it and it kinda was coming.. All these kind of shows run intoanendat some point and they have tied to innovate, from having one season with the harpoon boat on it to new captains (unlikeable) and it was becoming stale to be honest. If you compare it to Deadliest Catch it was really its boring, predictable ste brother.
I would still watch this for another 20 seasons, but i can see why and how it got cancelled.

Binge watched a season once. Show was basically:
Spend all day catching a tuna
Claim it's the best tuna they've ever seen
Tuna buyer would say it's cat food quality at best and chisel them out of money
