No Season 6 for the romantic drama.

Word is out that Sweet Magnolias has been cancelled by Netflix after five seasons. The news comes three months after the romantic drama released its now-final 10-episode season.
The series had a decent run on the streaming service, airing a total of 50 episodes since 2020. Season 5 garnered 2.8 million views in its opening week, ranking #4 on the Netflix Weekly Top 10 for English series list. While never a breakout hit, the show did draw a respectable and loyal audience.
Netflix was reportedly considering renewing it for a final sixth season, but ultimately decided to axe the series in favor of focusing on a new show being developed by Sweet Magnolias executive producer/showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson and star JoAnna Garcia Swisher.
Based on the novels by Sherryl Woods, Sweet Magnolias follows three longtime best friends from the small town of Serenity in South Carolina. Known as the Sweet Magnolias, the women have each others' backs as they work to balance their careers, relationships, and family matters.

So, Netflix is following other broadcast station and getting rid of really great shows. This was the show I could watch with my kids that wasn't reality TV. My sisters and I can relate. But, instead they cancel something great.
