No Season 3 for the Onyx Collective dramedy.

Word is out that UnPrisoned has been cancelled by Hulu after two seasons. The Onyx Collective-produced dramedy wrapped its sophomore run in July. Star and executive producer Kerry Washington took to Instagram with the news this morning.
"This beautiful show that we poured so much of our hearts and souls into is unfortunately not coming back for a Season 3," wrote Washington in a heartfelt post accompanied by a video of her favorite moments from making the show. "But I wanted you to hear it from me because while we're super duper disappointed, we're also crazy deeply grateful. Making this show was a labor of love. And we know that so many of you found connection and healing with The Alexander Family - and that their impact will live on!" See the full message in her post below.
Inspired by creator Tracy McMillan's life, UnPrisoned stars Washington as relationship therapist Paige Alexander, a single mother whose father, Edwin, is getting out of prison after 17 years. Wanting to make up for lost time, Edwin moves in with Paige so he can get to know the grandson he has never met.
