Fox announced today that Murder in a Small Town has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes less than two months after the Canadian crime drama wrapped its 8-episode freshman run.
"We look forward to giving fans a second season of Karl Alberg's unmatched expertise as a crime solver in Murder in a Small Town," said Brooke Bowman, Executive Vice President of Drama Programming & Development, FOX Television Network. "We've enjoyed a terrific partnership with Sepia and Future Shack and our incredibly talented cast and crew and can't wait to see what's in store for our characters next season."
Based on the Edgar Award-winning, nine-book "Karl Alberg" series by acclaimed novelist L.R. Wright, the series follows Karl Alberg, who moved to a quiet, coastal town to soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work. But this gentle paradise harbors more than its share of secrets. Karl must utilize all the skills that made him a world-class detective to solve the murders that continue to wash up on his shore.

I do agree that the Gibson's Landing, Molly's Reach tie in to classic Canadian television was cool and I'm disappointed that they make it into a generic American coastal town. Why couldn't it have just been in BC? It wouldn't have changed anything about the story lines or quality of the show.
I love Kristin Kreuk. This isn't a nail biting, edge of your seat, kind of show but more of a fun relaxing show with murders and beautiful scenery.
If this sounds like your thing or if you are a Kristin fan, then you need to watch this.
