Paramount+ announced today that Landman has been renewed for a second season. The news comes two months after the drama wrapped its 10-episode freshman run, with its episode on January 12 ranking as the most-watched finale in the streamer's history.

"Landman was one of the biggest shows of the year because of Taylor Sheridan's unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-western themes of rugged individualism, ambition and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change and economic growth," Paramount Global co-CEO Chris McCarthy said in a statement. "The series has helped drive Paramount+ to new heights as the No. 2 SVOD in the U.S. for original hours watched in quarter four, alongside our other hit series 'Tulsa King,' 'The Agency,' 'Lioness' and 'Dexter: Original Sin.'"

Based on the 11-part podcast "Boomtown" from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is set in the boomtowns of West Texas, following the upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling an oil boom so big it has the power to reshape the climate, the economy and geopolitics.
