Paramount+ announced today that School Spirits has been renewed for a third season in 2026. The news follows a successful sophomore run that premiered in January to an average audience of 3.9 million in its first 28 days, marking a double-digit increase of +94% from its Season 1 premiere.
"We are so thrilled to bring School Spirits back to our devoted audiences for another season of masterful storytelling brought to life by Peyton List and the incredible cast," said Shauna Phelan, Head of Live Action Scripted Series and Film for Awesomeness and Nickelodeon. "Co-showrunners Oliver Goldstick, Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud have an exceptional ability to capture the complexity and nuance of the teen experience, while also keeping audiences on their toes with the unexpected mystery, and we can't wait to see what's in store for the students of Split River High next season."
The series follows Maddie, a teenage girl stuck in the afterlife investigating her mysterious disappearance and death. As she begins her crime-solving journey while adjusting to the afterlife, she joins up with the Split River High Afterlife Support Group. But the closer she gets to uncovering the truth, the more secrets and lies she uncovers.

It started out great, but the first season sagged before finishing strong. I can't say I liked the ending of the first season, and I've had a hard time getting into the second season.
Ultimately it's just another teen angst drama, but well done. The twist of the female teen main character dealing with being a ghost before her life really started has been done before, such as in "Dead Like Me".

I am excited to see the explanation for the latest twists! I hate that we have to wait for it though. I guess it just means more binge watching sessions.

This is an amazing show I've gotten about a dozen or more of my friends watching it! But seriously we're helping your show get points by advertising it to our friends yet you make us wait a full year for the next season, I don't get it! You have 9.3 million viewers in just 28 days wouldn't you wanna get the 3rd season out there to keep your viewers watcching?? Who knows whose gonna lose interest in a year!

Why have to wait that long!! This is like one of my favorite shows why can’t the new season come out sooner ?? It already feels like I been waiting so long for a new season to come out for this tv show for awhile now eh
