Netflix announced today that British series Heartstopper will be concluding its story with a movie instead of a fourth season. The film will be based on author Alice Oseman's upcoming Volume 6 and will pick up after the Season 3 finale, which saw Nick, Charlie, and many of their friends take their relationships to a new level.
"I am completely overjoyed that we will get to tell the end of the Heartstopper story," said Oseman in a statement. "I'm so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for your patience and passion. I cannot wait to bring this story to a magical conclusion."
Based on the graphic novels by Oseman, the half-hour series follows Charlie and Nick, two teenagers who discover their unlikely friendship might be something more. Along with their circle of friends, the two must navigate the journey of self discovery and acceptance while supporting each other as they find their authentic selves.
Heartstopper will return, bigger than ever.
