The CW announced today that Trivial Pursuit has been renewed for a second season. The news comes five months after the game show wrapped its 13-episode freshman run. For Season 2, the network is more than doubling the episode count with an order of 30. Fellow new game show 'Scrabble' was also renewed today.
"We are excited to continue growing family game night on The CW by bringing a supersized order of 30 new episodes of both TRIVIAL PURSUIT and SCRABBLE to the network next year," said Heather Olander, Head of Unscripted Programming, The CW Network. "The one and only LeVar Burton is back as host for TRIVIAL PURSUIT and we welcome superstar comedian Craig Ferguson to The CW family as the new host of SCRABBLE."
The series reimagines the classic Trivial Pursuit board game in a question-packed entertainment format. Contestants battle it out on a giant version of the game board, taking on a range of play-along question categories to win wedges and beat each other to the center. The winner then takes on a dramatic finale against the clock to claim the big money jackpot.
