The sci-fi drama will continue its story.

Apple TV+ announced today that Foundation has been renewed for a fourth season. The news comes ahead of tomorrow's Season 3 finale, which wraps a 10-episode run that garnered continued praise from both fans and critics. Production on Season 4 is slated to begin in early 2026
"There is no series quite like Foundation and we feel lucky and honored to be carrying the torch forward as co-showrunners into season four," say co-showrunners and executive producers Ian Goldberg and David Kob. "We look forward to continuing the epic, emotional storytelling that defined the first three seasons of the show, and to be working alongside some of the most talented, passionate creative partners in the business."
"It's been fantastic to watch Foundation become such a global phenomenon, with fans tuning in from every corner of the world," said Matt Cherniss, head of programming, Apple TV+. "With each new season, the excitement around this trailblazing sci-fi epic just keeps building due to the bold storytelling and collective artistry of this extraordinarily talented cast and creative team. We're excited to keep exploring this universe together in season four."
Based on Isaac Asimov's novel series of the same name, the show takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire, where a band of exiles known as The Foundation embark on a monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization.

It would have been a lot better if it didn't say it was derived from Asimov's Foundation trilogy. It's not even close. The showrunner said on the official podcast that he wasn't even a big fan of the Foundation trilogy and SF in general. He said the only reason he did the show was because the trilogy books were his father's favorite novels.
That said, it's not a bad show. Just name it something else and save paying the Asimov family royalties.

I agree with Scott. I don't think anybody has ever before referred to Fringe as one of the worst shows ever made. It is generally considered one of the better shows of its time.

@nope lol, Fringe is one of the worst shows ever made. Typical J.J. Abrams and Alex Kurtzman fanboys overpraising any low IQ garbage those hacks make...

I'm really happy about this. It helps make up or The Wheel Of Time getting canceled which I was not happy about to say the least.

Best show on TV. Fantastic. 10/10. For new watchers, give it a chance, its a bit of a slow burner but season 3 with give you tidbits going back to the very first episode that will blow your mind. Its almost as good as "Fringe"(TV Show a few years back) that way. Watch Fringe, then as soon as its done, watch it again, but look at all the stuff going on in each scenes background...starting with the opening scenes.

Excellent! I'm enjoying this show much more than I enjoyed the books so many years ago (and I always loved sci-fi).
