The 'Blue Bloods' spinoff will return for Season 2.
December 3, 2025
CBS announced today that Boston Blue has been renewed for a second season. The early pickup comes just six episodes into the police drama's debut run. Fellow Friday freshman series 'Sheriff Country' was also renewed today.
"Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming," said Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment. "These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera."
A spinoff of 'Blue Bloods,' the series follows NYPD officer Danny Reagan after he moves to Massachusetts to take a position with Boston PD. In his new role, he is paired with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.

Glad it got renewed. The show is good, not great right now. But give it room to grow and it might turn out great.
Agree with Fred, remove the religion part. It does not fit the show.

I agree that this show is not good. As much as I am not a Mark Wahlberg fan, at least he can do drama and comedy. Donnie was great as Carwood Lipton in Band of Brothers. I also like Danny Reagan. That being said, Donnie is not going to do much after Danny. New Kids on the Block? Also, Lena is no Maria Biaz. The rest of the cast is Blue Bloods rip-offs. I watched six episodes. Basically, looking for Blue Blood cameos. I am done.

Agree with Fred. Not as good as the original but I still like it. I guess by sellout you mean they offered him a job and he took it. Silly him.

I would agree, the show does suck and 2 rookies together in a squad car, really! Was a huge fan of Blue Bloods and I do record this Boston Blue but not sure I will continue after this season. Socked but not surprised that it was picked up for season 2, Donny is doing what Charlie Sheen did, get me to 100 episodes and let me receive residuals. Sad to see this type of TV shows.

This show is garbage! The cases are dumb. The two rookies riding together is not realistic. The family meals are a joke. Why try to impersonate Blue Bloods, but change everything. Blue Bloods seemed very realistic while Boston Blue is sucking every generic police trope possible. P.S. they have to remind you every episode that they are in Boston. One episode even shows them hanging around The Green Monster and bumping into their partners. Try getting Monster seats at Fenway. Very expensive and big money on the after market. This show sucks! Donny Wahlberg is a sellout

It’s not too bad. I’m still getting used to the new family (characters), as in Blue Bloods, we knew who was who (Erin the DA, Frank the Commissioner, etc.). I know it’s not the original, but this show is ok so far. I’m glad there will be a season 2

CBS - Conventional Banal Schedule -- no new ideas.. just recycled scripts moving from show to show to show...

This is a real surprise. This show is awful. Nothing more then a woke ripoff of Blue Bloods right down to the dinner scene. The cast is not likeable. It is just boring. I stopped watching after second episode. Network TV is so dead crap like this get renewed.
